Aint’ Nothin Like Me is just another example of what good R&B should sound like. It’s not overly whiney, or silly, or so overtly sexual it can only be described as crass. Instead, it’s just smooth and jazzy with memorable well produced songs from beginning to end. You would think that after so many albums and so many artists that the R&B genre would be starved for new material, but Joe proves this notion false by crafting a rewarding mix of songs while remaining in the love ballad genre. Let’s face it, women will never get enough of hearing about how great they are, or how badly we men need them, or even being told that they smell nice.
Because of this fact, Joe gives men everywhere new material that can be used in wooing the woman (or women I guess) of your choice. Just sit her down and by the end of ‘My Love’ she’ll be butter, or putty (whatever floats your boat really) in your hands. And in the event that things with your sweetie aren’t going the way you would like, just play ‘It’s Me’ for her and hope for the best. All kidding aside, Joe really has put together a great album that should fit well into most R&B fans collections and spend a great deal of time in CD and MP3 players everywhere.
There’s no one like Dante Maddox either… thankfully, ones more than enough
