Wolfmother

Coming all the way from Australia, Wolfmother is a hard-core bite to your ears. They are guitar-driven rock and their Dimensions EP is out soon. Check them out, or you could face the same fate as Little Red Riding Hood.

Hide the kids! Wolfmother is on the prowl! Wolfmother is an intense band from Australia, with a classic rock sound that is reminiscent of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Though, do not be fooled by the comparisons and compare Wolfmother to other groups trying to cash in on the retro-rock sound, Wolfmother are definitely going outside of the creative norms, as all the members are artists turned musicians.

Wolfmother is a three-piece consisting of Myles Heskett, Chris Ross and Andrew Stockdale, all equally committed to the songwriting process.
Thus, the song-writing for their latest self-titled album, was definitely an adventurous Los Angeles experience. Utilizing L.A. for its many recording resources and historical music settings, Wolfmother’s tenure in Los Angeles was quick, but directly hit the mark for their experimental sound. For one, producer D. Sardy (lent his hand in Dandy Warhols, Oasis, Autolux, Jet and Helmet) juxtaposed the album with modern and classic themes, which Wolfmother proved to be a surprising possibility. Not to mention, Wolfmother recorded at the same studio as Nirvana’s Nevermind, so it is clear that Wolfmother are onto something big.

If you are a fan of all things rock,
check out their "Dimensions" EP (out Jan. 31), you won’t regret it. They are playing the SXSW Festival in Texas with a bunch of other cool bands. Go here to see if you can win some tickets to the SXSW Festival and watch Wolfmother's newest video here.
