Both series are now filming in Vancouver, B.C. for a summer premiere on The SCI FI Channel.

"Avalon" will apparently take Stargate into the realm of Arthurian mythology for the first time ever. Written by show-runner Robert C. Cooper and directed by Andy Mikita, "Avalon" will introduce new series regulars Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell (Ben Browder) and General Hank Landry (Beau Bridges). The episode will also bring "a challenge for Daniel on two fronts, a dilemma for Teal'c, the return of an old friend, a couple of major revelations regarding the Ancients, a fearsome new villain ... to name just a few things," Mallozzi said.

"The Ties That Bind" will follow the 3-part season premiere (story), written by Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, and directed by Will Waring.

"As for the new doctor [played by Andromeda's Lexa Doig], her name is Carolyn Lam. She is at the top of her field -- intelligent, quick-witted, and she doesn't take guff from anyone."

Stargate Atlantis's sophomore season premiere wraps up the cliffhanger season finale with "The Siege, Part 3," written by Martin Gero and directed by Martin Wood. "The hive ships have arrived and Atlantis is up against [a wall]. How the heck will they get out of this one?"

"Provided the base is not obliterated at episode's end, we'll be moving on to 'Intruder,' written by Paul Mullie and Joseph Mallozzi, directed by Peter DeLuise, produced by Paul Mullie and Joseph Mallozzi. The events of 'Siege III' are going to have wide-raging effects, effecting both individuals and Atlantis as a whole -- new faces, a new dynamic, and ... an intruder."

"Runner," written by Robert C. Cooper, should air as the third episode of the season and will introduce Ronon Dex, a new series regular played by Jason Momoa. "Don't mess with him," Mallozzi warned.

New Atlantis scribe Carl Binder has "hit the ground running" with an episode titled "Aurora." Martin Gero is also writing "Duet" for Atlantis, as well as his first Stargate SG-1 script. And Damian Kindler has pitched in on Atlantis with "Trinity."

"Some of the episodes that will be seeing the light of day (but some of the episode titles that won't) include: The Clone/Not the Clone Story, Ex Deux Machina, Remembrance of Things Past, and Beachhead." We'll keep tabs on all of these episodes in our Season Nine and Season Two episode guides as they move through the production pipeline.

"The dailies look great," Mallozzi added. "We're very excited about the stories we're telling (and will be telling), and equally excited about the terrific job the casts of both shows are doing (both established and new faces)."
