Full disclosure: In 1992 I had an orange-ish pink Bettier Serveert shirt with a tiny puppy on the front (the cover of their album Palomine) that I wore everywhere around a small Kentucky town. And I can tell you, orange-ish pink shirts with cute puppies worn by boys does not go over well in small Kentucky towns (in 1992 or now, I assume).

But that didn’t stop me because I thought Palomine was one of the best indie rock records to come out that year. And Tom Boy, the lead track, didn’t become nearly a big enough hit.
