We here at Crave Gaming are not big Final Fantasy players. However, there is a large portion of the gaming populace that are huge fans of the series, so this news is for you: Square Enix has officially announced a follow-up to Final Fantasy XIII, called Final Fantasy XIII-2. The sequel is being directed by Motomu Toriyama, the same man who directed last year’s FFXIII.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be coming to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan and North America. The Japanese launch is targeted for “2011,” while the English version will get a “Winter 2011” release. Good luck deducing those exact time-frames.
Originally there was a leaked trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2 floating around the internet, but that has since been squashed by Square Enix. Now all that remains are some screenshots from the official reveal trailer that premiered at Square Enix’s Product Development Division-1 event yesterday.
If you’ve yet to finish Final Fantasy XIII, look away. The below screenshots are heavy on the spoilers. You’ve been warned.
