A look at the some of the most bad ass chicks in film.
We want to give the ladies their due this week, so we decided to showcase the most bad ass women in films. We love the ladies that can fend off a hoard of Mongols, a clan of Ninjas or robot killers without breaking a sweat. We proudly bring you… CraveOnline’s Bad Ass Chicks!
Devon Aoki as Miho - Sin City
As a member of Rosario Dawson's hooker gang in Sin City, Miho slices off Benicio Del Toro's hand like it was butter before using her swords to dispatch all of his friends in the car. It's a brutally beautiful scene. She's not a central character in the film, but she's certainly a glaring stand-out performer, one who definitely deserves a spot on our list.
Kristin Kreuk as Chun Li - Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li
Kristin Kreuk proves her chops both in acting and martial arts in this summer's biggest gaming action flick! Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak from a Justin Marks script, the film centers on Kruek's character, and her journey for justice... meeting (and smashing!) some familiar faces along the way.
Rose McGowan as Cherry Darling – Planet Terror
Cherry's a special kind of lady. You know, the kind of girl with a pirate flare who takes her clothes off for money... and happens to have a machine gun for a leg, the result of nearly being killed by a zombie. Have you ever seen Planet Terror? Riding backwards on a motorcycle, being thrown over a large wall and gunning down the undead is just another day in the life of Cherry Darling.
Sheri Moon Zombie as Baby Firefly - House of 1000 Corpses & The Devil's Rejects
Baby kicks all kinds of sadistic ass in this movie coupling that's spawned more nightmares than all of Stephen King's novels put together. Sheri Moon is a devastatingly hot woman who uses her sweet seduction on men before hacking them to pieces, or sicking her family clan on the task. Her performance is truly not for the weak stomachs, but there's something so deliciously vile about her ruthlessness, it's impossible to look away.
Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor - Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Have you ever seen such a sharp transition in characters between the first and second films in a franchise? Forget about Christian Bale - Linda Hamilton was the original badass Terminator killer, and she set the standard for gung-ho action chicks. If it wasn't for her, all of mankind would be doomed, and Hamilton put every ounce of herself into the role of the young mom of a future savior/leader of the resistance. Whatever came later is just icing - T2 was the cake of the Terminator franchise, and Hamilton was a big reason why.
Juliette Lewis as Mallory Knox - Natural Born Killers
Sure, she may be absolutely batcrap crazy and more murderous than the Manson family, but there's just something about Mallory Knox that we just can't resist. That's largely due to Juliette Lewis, who's batty enough in her own right to pull off a believable psychopath on her own. But God help us, we love her.
Uma Thurman as Beatrix Kiddo (The Bride) Kill Bill I & II
Nobody, man or woman, has severed so many limbs, fought so many vicious battles and gotten such sweet, brutal revenge as Uma Thurman in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill masterpiece. After surviving a point-blank gunshot to the head and the four-year coma that resulted, The Bride pulled herself together using her Kung Fu training and sheer willpower, and set out to get revenge on an entire group of assassins that turned on her, under the command of her ultimate target, Bill (played, of course, by the late David Carradine). What ensues is such a beautiful, gripping spectacle that several of the fight scenes will undoubtedly be referred to as all-time classics in the film history books of the future. And the best part? Tarantino wrote the character of Beatrix specifically for Uma Thurman.
Milla Jovovich as Alice in Resident Evil
When you're taking on massive hordes of zombie monsters, and winning, no less, you've definitely earned a spot on our list. Milla Jovovich, the human chameleon (she's played everything from Joan of Arc to co-singer on Tool's Maynard James Keenan's latest project, Puscifer) steps into the role of the genetically-altered Alice, saving the day in every which way - or at least trying to, as she struggles to defeat the virus. The only real chick we'd pit up against the most badass of them all....
Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley in the Alien films
Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the only survivor of the alien attack on the mining ship Nostromo, wakes up half a century later on a hostile salvage ship that doesn’t believe her discovery of alien species that are hostile and horribly dangerous.
Of course, soon all naysayers are proven wrong as they’re killed or taken to harvest the chest-bursting alien babies. But as Ripley kicks scary alien ass over the span of several films and 200 film years, she leaves little room for debate as to who the most bad-ass chick in film truly is.
