Steve-O Arrested At Calgary Airport

Stephen Gilchrist Glover, otherwise known as "Jackass’" own Steve-O (yes, the guy who puts live jellyfish on his head and intentionally gives himself paper cuts for a laugh), was arrested at Calgary airport Sunday.

He was taken into custody because of warrants for assault with a weapon which happened back in 2003 – the reality show star was involved in a fight on New Year’s Eve at the University of Calgary’s MacEwan Hall where he was attacked on stage by an audience member and struck twice before he hit the man back with an unknown weapon. Steve-O’s publicist said in a statement reprinted by The Calgary Herald, “Mr. Glover was not aware of this outstanding warrant and has travelled without incident numerous times to and from Canada since 2003.”

Steve-O took part in an interview with Breakfast Television Calgary several days before his arrest and recalled the incident: “For some reason, I can’t remember what, the show was cut short. We had to flee from the venue running from cops,” Glover said in the interview. “The cops were after me and my whole gang. If I remember correctly some guy had gotten on stage and did something or other, maybe punched someone and then he got beaten up and we were kinda responsible for beating this guy up.”

U.S. customs officials noticed the outstanding warrant when Steve-O arrived in Calgary to perform last week at the Laugh Shop Comedy Club at the Blackfoot Inn. He was booked and released on $10,000 bail later that day. He will make a plea in Calgary court May 10th.
