Sucker Punch may have underperformed this weekend, both critically and financially (it lost the #1 spot to Diary of a Wimpy Kid: No Seriously, We Made a Sequel to This), but Zack Snyder’s still a winner in our eyes because he’s just cast a perfect Lois Lane. Amy Adams, a three-time Oscar nominee, stunning beauty and enormously talented actress, will star alongside Henry Cavill in Superman as the rambunctious reporter who wins the Man of Steel’s heart through the sheer force of her own awesomeness. Wow. Is there any reason to complain about this?
Ordinarily we’d take this opportunity to provide context, examine Adams’ career, and ponder the wisdom of this casting decision, but damn it there’s just no need. Everyone loves Amy Adams, and with good cause. We can’t imagine a better choice for the role. Zack, don’t let the whole Sucker Punch thing get you down: Superman is shaping up to be all kinds of incredible. Put aside the worries of today and just focus on our man of the tomorrow. Thanks to The Los Angeles Times for the scoop.
Crave Online will be back with more Superman casting – we still don’t have a villain yet, or a Perry White, or a Jimmy Olsen – as the news breaks.
