Donald Trump on the job market

Donald Trump on 'Celebrity Apprentice' and jobs.

Fred Topelby Fred Topel

Donald Trump is back with an all new Celebrity Apprentice so he can have Meat Loaf yelling at Gary Busey. The Donald continues to weather the economic crisis, so each new round of contestants is always an opportunity for me to get my financial advice. I joined a conference call to ask Trump my questions about The Loaf and the job market.

CraveOnline: Do you look for contestants who will be volatile?

Donald Trump: Well, I don’t know that I can say yes or no to that. I will say this, Fred, that this has been a very volatile group. Whether it’s Meat Loaf or NeNe but it’s a certain intelligent volatile, but without question the most volatile group we’ve ever had. It’s been an amazing group of people and I think it’s going to be amazing television.

CraveOnline: Do you think the job market is coming back?

Donald Trump: I think the job market is coming back and I think it’s coming back fairly strongly, but at the same time many of the jobs in this country are being taken by China and other countries. So I have a whole big thing on that but I think the economy’s getting a little bit better, but I think it could also be a very disastrous year coming up if things keep going the way they are.

CraveOnline: Are you able to create more opportunities in your businesses?

Donald Trump: Well, I think so. We like to use The Apprentice to show what we think of the market and what we think of the world and the world economy and the local economy. The Apprentice really started off as a business show and it really continues to be that. They say it’s the only business show that’s ever really worked big league on primetime television and we’re very proud of that.
