'Mortal Kombat Rebirth' Preview

Last January, Kevin Tancharoen got the chance to follow up his wildly popular "Mortal Kombat Rebirth" trailer with a full blown web series and the full support of Midway and Warner Premiere. And although the project isn’t expected to debut until later this year when the next "Mortal Kombat" game launches, Tancharoen has already been offering fans a look behind-the-scenes as the series shoots in Vancouver.

Over on his twitter account, (via Latino Review), Tancharoen posted several pics from the set, without offering much in the way of context.

The most recent images have featured an early look at Baraka.

And a pic identified only as "Girlfight!"

Tancharoen didn’t confirm it, but the early theory is that Mileena and Kitana are the two girls in question.

Michael Jai White (“Spawn”) and Jeri Ryan (“Star Trek: Voyager”) are reprising their roles as Jax and Sonya Blade from the original "Rebirth" trailer, with Darren Shahlavi (“300”), and Ryan Robbins (“Sanctuary") also starring.

On the creative side, Tancharoen is joined by "Mortal Kombat" co-creator, Ed Boon as well as Todd Helbing (“Spartacus: Blood and Sand”) and Aaron Helbing.
