Magicka: Vietnam is officially coming. As part of the news coming out of GDC, Paradox Interactive has just revealed the absurdly awesome new set of content for thier wizard-based, crazy fun PC title. Dig the trailer, which is rife with Vietnam flick and FPS game references… particularly the nod to Battlefield.
Even more epic than the trailer above is Paradox’s pitch for the project. Okay, maybe not more epic, but definitely a mix of exciting and hilarious.
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like if wizards were allowed to roam the jungles of war-torn Vietnam, attempting to bring peace and stability to the region by casting spells on all opponents? Wait, you haven’t ever wondered that? Ever? Okay, so we’re probably the only ones who have but in our defense: here’s your chance to stop being so closed-minded. Magicka: Vietnam delivers over-the-top action as players take on the role of four meek and physically inept wizards as they try to do what so many 80’s action stars have done in the past: blow stuff up.
Magicka initially released to a storm of bugs and glitches that rendered the otherwise awesome game rather tough to play for a good chunk of its audience. Since then, the developers and publisher have worked hard to fix the issues and make the title more playable for all. That support indicates the great potential for sequels and off-shoots like Magicka: Vietnam.
