In the world of online viral videos and Web series, celebrities and famous athletes have begun to take advantage of the resources used by those of us still trying to make something of ourselves. Most of the time I find them annoying, but the most recent celeb video to hit the internet is actually entertaining, and extremely well produced.
Kobe Bryant has spoke of his alter-ego "The Black Mamba" on numerous occasions. Known as the largest venomous snake in Africa, the self-imposed nickname is intended to describe the way he approaches the game on the court.
The new Nike Zoom Kobe VI was released over the weekend and, as a part of the promo package, Nike and Kobe teamed up with famed filmmaker Robert Rodriguez to create a film short for the internet that stars celebs Kanye West, Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo alongside Kobe and Rodriguez.
The video is ridiculous, and in the best form of the word. It’s chock full of explosions, intense cinematography and artistic graphic effects.
It may be nothing more than a five minute long commercial for the new shoes, but it was refreshing to see Kobe loosen up and have some fun with the project and Rodriguez did an awesome job making it a solid production.
I recommend checking it out!
