Triple Threat of DLC for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

The best racing gaming of 2010 — and our #9 title of the year, overall — is getting a triple pack of new DLC. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will get not only two new game modes, but will also get content packs spotlighting two separate exotic car manufacturers.

The first DLC pack is the “Armed and Dangerous” DLC. This downloadable add-on contains two new game modes for Hot Pursuit: “Most Wanted” and “Arms Race.” Most Wanted is an open world race where the cops try to bust a single racer while the rest of the law breakers on the road try to protect him. Arms Race, on the other hand, is an every man for themselves race where every weapon is available and racers rush to the finish line. In addition to the new gametypes, the Armed and Dangerous DLC also comes with three new trophies and achievements. The pack will be available on February 22 for $6.99 (560 MS Points) for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

The second set of downloadable content spotlights the Lamborghini in the “Lamborghini Untamed” DLC pack. This pack adds three new legendary Lambo models: Lamborghini Diablo SV, Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV and the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. This DLC pack also brings with it 10 new events and four new trophies and achievements. The Lamborghini Untamed DLC will be available March 1 for $6.99 (560 MS Points) on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

The final DLC pack for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit puts the Porsche center stage. Like the Lamborghini Untamed pack, the “Porsche Unleashed” DLC brings three new cars to Hot Pursuit: The Porsche 911 Turbo (1982 Edition), as well as the Porsche 959 and 911 Speedster. With this DLC also comes 10 new events and four new trophies and achievements. You can pick up the Porsche Unleashed DLC on March 8 for $6.99 (560 MS Points) for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

Starting next week — and running for three weeks in a row — you can get fresh Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit downloadable content. Score!
