This April, AMC will ask "Who killed Rosie Larsen?"
"The Killing" is AMC’s newest drama, based on the Danish TV series "Forbrydelsen." The series follows the murder of a teenage girl in Seattle through three separate and yet interconnected stories about the cops investigating her death, her grieving parents and the local politicians who may be connected to the case.
Veena Sud ("Cold Case") wrote the pilot script and will be the showrunner for the series’ first season of 13 episodes. Mireille Enos ("Big Love") leads the cast as Sarah Linden, the police detective looking into the death of Rosie Larsen (Katie Findlay).
Billy Campbell ("Once and Again") costars as Darren Richmond, a candidate running for mayor who could have ties to the victim; with Michelle Forbes ("24") and Brent Sexton ("In the Valley of Elah") as Rosie’s parents and Joel Kinnaman ("Snabba Cash") as Stephen Holder, another cop who works closely with Liden on the case.
AMC has provided an early look at the series, in which Sud explains the premise and the real time aspect of the season chronicling 13 days after the murder.
A teaser poster has also been released, featuring Findlay’s doomed Rosie Larsen.
"The Killing" will premiere with a two hour episode on Sunday, April 03 on AMC.
