Resident Evil Celebrates 15 Years of Infected Life

Capcom issues a new trailer that looks back on one of gaming's greatest franchises.

Capcom is pulling out all the stops for their 15th anniversary celebration of the Resident Evil franchise. Today the company has released a brand new retrospective trailer that covers 15 years worth of scares, viruses, zombies and roundhouse kicks from the franchise’s later years. But the trailer doesn’t dwell entirely on the past; it also looks to the future of the Resident Evil series. In the trailer you get your first video look at the HD remasterings of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X, as well as more teasing towards the upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

This trailer is a trip down memory lane for me. The first Resident Evil is the game that got me to pick up the original PlayStation. Up until that point I was strictly a Nintendo fanboy. But after I saw that first cutscene with the zombie turning his head, mouth dripping with blood, I was hooked. I've been a diehard fan of Resident Evil ever since. It's good to see the franchise is still truckin'.
