Remember when the Black Ops “Escalation Pack” was leaked by an Australian retailer like a week ago? Yup… turns out the DLC that will add another five multiplayer maps to Call of Duty: Black Ops is indeed real. Activision made the official announcement today. For a refresher, here is the flier that Game leaked last Tuesday:

The map pack will release May 3, exclusively on Xbox 360 for now. Four of the maps will be for competitive multiplayer, while the final map is for zombie co-op mode. Activision is still keeping quiet on pricing, but if we were a betting man we would say it’s going to run the standard CoD asking price of 1200 MS Points ($15). But if Escalation is anything like First Strike, the price will justify the additions.

UPDATE – Here's the official blurbs for each of the DLC's five maps.

  • Hotel puts players in a Cuban luxury resort so they can shoot each other in style
  • Convoy is a tight map centered on an ambushed U.S. military convoy
  • Zoo takes place in an abandoned Soviet zoo
  • Stockpile is a sleepy Russian village that holds secret WMDs
  • Zombies players will get "a unique Zombies experience"

More info on the Black Ops Escalation map pack as it becomes available. Stay tuned to CraveOnline!
