EA Games and 38 Studios have released the first ever gameplay footage of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a game conceived by a dream team of creative minds from all walks of the entertainment industry… spearheaded by a World Series Champion pitcher.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is the first project by 38 Studios, a studio founded by three-time World Series Champion pitcher Curt Schilling. For the title, Schilling brought in Spawn-creator Todd McFarlane to design the game world, R.A. Salvatore to write 100,000 years worth of history and backstory and Ken Rolston, Lead Designer on The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and Oblivion, to act as the lead on overall game design. Talk about a heavy hitting roster of talent.

The trailer is really our first glimpse at the world and combat of Kingdoms of Amalur, a game set to launch in 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Enjoy!
