Preview: Daken: Dark Wolverine #9.1

Dayken?  Dokken?  Turducken?  However you pronounce it, Wolverine's crazy kid has his own book, and he's out to dice up the LA underworld.

We can all agree that "Dark Wolverine" is a pretty awful name, but it's a term Marvel will need to balance out the fact that nobody knows how to pronounce the name of the guy starring in this book.  Daken.  Does it rhyme with 'taken' or with 'Dokken' or is it more Da-KEN?  It might as well be Toby.

But there's more to this guy than just his name, and a sub-par name doesn't necessarily equate to sub-par entertainment – just look at the TV show Better Off Ted.  A goofy name, but a hilariously smart show that was canceled before its time.  Perhaps Daken: Dark Wolverine will avoid that fate with its 9.1 jump-on issue.  If you'd like to read the continuing adventures of one of Norman Osborn's Dark Reign creeps, this is the book for you.  Daken has a lust for power and he's aiming to dice up the Los Angeles underworld until they make him their overlord.  Yet, in this issue, Big Poppa Snikt Logan is on the scene with the Avengers to put the kibosh on his aspirations.
