O Shepard, where art thou?

Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention. I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you to stop what you're doing and listen…

Mass Effect 3 has been delayed into 2012.

The game is now slated to release within the first three months of next year. Here, I’ll give you a minute to grab your pillow and scream as loudly as you can into it. OK, feel better?

BioWare’s Community Coordinator Chris Priestly took to the BioWare forums to make the unfortunate announcement via a presser quote from Executive Producer Casey Hudson.

“Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012,” said Hudson. “The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”

This news truly is a bummer. However, late 2011 was looking overly crowded. Maybe Mass Effect 3 moving into next year is a good thing… for our wallets. It’s going to be a tough wait, no doubt, but at least we’re all in this together. Right?
