Green Lantern Corps will return, focusing on John Stewart and Guy Gardner as the heads of an elite peacekeeping strike force, with the creative team of Peter J. Tomasi, Fernando Pasarin and Scott Hanna.
Green Lantern: The New Guardians comes from Tony Bedard, Tyler Kirkham and Batt, and will star Kyle Rayner as the leader of the New Guardians, who are said to be volatile and "colorful." Seemingly, there'll be a representative of each different Lantern Corps involved - is the great hope Ganthet spoke of regarding Rayner that he'll be the one to "unite the clans," so to speak?
There will also be a new Red Lanterns #1 that focuses entirely on Atrocitus and his team of rage-based warriors exacting bloody vengeance for those wronged, from Peter Milligan, Ed Benes and Rob Hunter.
Then, of course, is straight-up Green Lantern #1, all about Super Duper Hal Jordan, who will likely get a little spin on him to make him more Ryan Reynoldsy. Geoff Johns is sticking around to write him with art from Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy. Johns is being cagey about what's going on there, although he promises hints in #57, the last issue of the old, outdated, who-needs-it DC.
"'Green Lantern' 1 picks up a few months later in a very different space than we are now," he said. "When you see the cover you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. If I didn't think I had a great idea for Green Lantern, I wouldn't have relaunched the book. I would move on if I didn't think I had a great plan for it."
