Russell Crowe has joined Marlon Brando in the long line of big, classy actors playing Superman's dad. A long line of two actors. Anyway, it just broke that Crowe will be joining Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Michael Shannon in Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman: Man of Steel. And we're cool with that.

So cool, in fact that we have nothing much more to say about it. Crowe's cool. We like the casting so far. We're a little nervous that, to date, there's been no mention whatsoever of Lex Luthor, but let's not sully this great casting announcement with that, okay? Deadline had the story.

Good times, Hollywood. Good times.

CORRECTION: Russell Crowe is still 'in talks' for the role. This is still not a done deal yet, but it's looking likely.

Crave Online will be back with more Man of Steel news as soon as we can find a phone booth.
