MICHAEL BAY’S NEXT MOVIE: A Low-Budget Heist Thriller?

The Transformers: Dark of the Moon director will finally make a movie for less than his own salary.

Although the numbers aren't in yet, it's pretty safe to say that Transformers: Dark of the Moon is going to make a lot of money this weekend. You know, like just about every other Michael Bay movie. He's one of the hottest directors in the world, with access to unlimited funds. How's he going to follow-up his most expensive movie to date?

He's going to make a little heist movie. For $20 million.

Actually, Bay's threatened to do this before, right after Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We're not sure if he just wants to challenge himself or if he just plain loves the story – set in the seedy world of extortion and kidnapping in Florida – but he just told MTV that Pain & Gain is his next project. "I'm still going to do it," Bay said. "I'm going to do it next."

While he was at it, Bay also gave an update on Bad Boys 3, which he wants to do but hasn't been able to because of the difficulty in working around everybody's schedules. Something tells me that Martin Lawrence can probably make the time, but Will Smith and Bay are both particularly busy bees.

Crave Online will be back with more Michael Bay news as it EXPLODES!
