Christopher Nolan's got one hell of a directing career on his hands, but he's only just now getting into producing. Although he's credited as a producer on most of his own directorial efforts, including the upcoming Dark Knight Rises, he's just settling in to making other people's projects happen. Up next: Man of Steel, the new Superman reboot from Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder. After that, it's a mysterious new supernatural thriller from director Keith Gordon. Deadline reports that the unknown project, based on an equally unknown novel, will be produced at Warner Bros. under Nolan's production company Syncopy.

As for Gordon, he's had a very interesting career of his own. Starting out as an actor, he made his feature film debut in Jaws 2 before moving on to more prestigious (or at least more fondly remembered) movies as John Carpenter's Christine, Brian De Palma's Dressed to Kill and of course the Rodney Dangerfield comedy classic (of sorts) Back to School. Since 1994 he's spent the bulk of his time directing such excellent films as the Kurt Vonnegut adaptation Mother Night, the critically-acclaimed Waking the Dead and a slew of popular television series including Showtime's Dexter and AMC's The Killing.

So yeah he's a pretty good choice to direct just about anything. Which is a good thing, because that's exactly what this movie could be: just about anything.
