When last we heard from Cabin in the Woods, the horror comedy from Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon – starring Thor's Chris Hemsworth (pre-Thor) had finally been picked up by Lionsgate after sitting on a shelf since 2009. MGM's much-touted but apparently never-seen horror comedy, about a cabin… in the woods… fell off the studio's radar during their ongoing legal woes before Lionsgate swooped in and declared an end to the delays. Today we learned, at last(!), that Cabin in the Woods will be released on April 13th, 2012.

Which is… quite a delay. It's done, isn't it? You'd think Lionsgate would want to capitalize on the popularity of Thor, rather than preempt the predicted popularity of The Avengers on May 4th, 2012, but hey… What do we know? We're just the target demographic.

CRAVE Online will be back with more Cabin in the Woods news when it gets pushed back again.
