Freddy Krueger Joins Mortal Kombat

He’s apparently grown tired of just haunting children in their nightmares.

Warner Brothers and NetherRealms Studios have revealed the fourth downloadable character for Mortal Kombat — it’s none other than Elm Street’s own Freddy Krueger. Freddy definitely feels like the square peg trying to fit in a round hole considering he’s not a Mortal Kombat alumni, but his violent tendencies and passion for nightmares fit right in line with this universe’s colorful cast.

Krueger will come with his own distinct move-set, two fatalities and arcade ladder ending. Much like with the previously released DLC characters, Freddy Krueger will run you 400 MS Points or $4.99 on the PlayStation Network when he releases for download on August 9th. If you’re a Mortal Kombat Season Pass owner he will be free.
