The population of Bon Temps is about to rapidly drop...

During last week's episode of "True Blood," the war between Marnie (Fiona Shaw) and the vampires finally came to an end as even the spirit of Antonia (Paola Turbay) turned on Marnie for her murderous actions. As Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her closest friends were held captive within the Moon Goddess Emporium,  Jesus Velasquez (Kevin Alejandro) and Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis) prepared a spell to forcibly separate Marnie from Antonia.

With the success of Jesus' spell, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) ripped out the heart of Marnie's last protector and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) shot her dead. But in Bon Temps death isn't necessarily the end and Marnie's vengeful spirit discovered the perfect vessel for her return: Lafayette himself.

In the aftermath of the battle, Bon Temps seemingly returns to normal and even Sookie doesn't suspect that Marnie is still out there yet. For our first preview clip of the week, Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) visits Sookie at Merlotte's to tell her about his breakup with Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan) before making his long awaited attempt to win Sookie's heart.

Also in the previous episode, Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) avenged the death of his brother, Tommy (Marshall Allman) by defeating Marcus Bozeman (Dan Buran). In our final preview scene of the season, Sam is joined at Tommy's grave by Maxine Fortenberry (Dale Raoul). And although Maxine mourns Tommy's death, she hasn't yet realized that he sold her land out from under her.

For the season finale, HBO has released two trailers and the synopsis:

The souls of the dead rise up in Bon Temps. Sookie makes some important associations. Jesus and Lafayette's connection is imperiled. Sam and Luna imagine a happy and perfect future. Sookie and Tara are confronted by Debbie.
