Do you have a short movie script burning a hole in your pocket? Got a great idea but haven't had the chance – or the money – to film it yet? Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street Productions (which brought you Fanboys and The Social Network) wants to make it happen. They've teamed up with Jameson Irish Whiskey, which you'll need a lot of during production, to set up Jameson First Shot. The contest is currently taking submissions, and is looking for screenplays from America, Russia and South Africa to make into a professional short film, starring two-time Academy Award-winner Kevin Spacey!

Quoth the press release:

Talented film makers looking for their big break are invited to submit a script of up to seven pages in length onto  Inspired by the theme of a legendary, humorous or very tall tale, the shortlist will be judged by an expert team including  Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, President of Trigger Street Productions (‘The Social Networkand ‘21’). The nominees will then go through to the next round, where they will show their directing skills by shooting a scene supplied by Trigger Street.

“I want to give talented people out there a shot at reaching their goals for the first time.  Jack Lemmon once said to me – ‘If you’re doing well, send the elevator back down’.  I've done incredibly well and it’s due to the material I found early in my career from first-time writers, directors and playwrights.  If it were not for that talent, I wouldn't have a career,” says Spacey.  “So if one person gets a break, then the competition is successful.”

What, you're still here? Get out there and submit, people! Submit to Kevin F**king Spacey!
