It was another exciting Sunday of football that had me as about as perplexed and confused as the first two weeks. I don't know about you but my pick all has been crap this year and my fantasy teams have been mostly off rather than on. But hey, it's still the NFL and I wouldn't have it any other way…um…except maybe I could pick a few more winners each week.
That's all though!
Oh Yes They Did!
Both the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions had to overcome deficits of at least 20 points to win their respective games. That marks the first time ever that two teams accomplished this feat on the same week. For the Bills, it was the second straight week being down by at least 18 and winning.
The Black and Silver are back after Oakland pummeled the New York Jets 34-24 to make their claim at the upper hierarchy of the NFL. Outside of a last minute loss to the Buffalo Bills in a game where they led big, the Raiders have won both their games and have looked good doing it.
How about those Browns? At 2-1, they are sitting in a three way tie atop the AFC Central and while they haven't been flashy, they are still exceeding expectations. Take this, you parity buffs, the Browns, Lions, Bills and Raiders all have winning records in the early going. Not too shabby.
Oh No They Didn't!
The Houston Texans continue to show that they have one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL after putting up 33 on the New Orleans Saints. Only one problem, their defense gave up 40. If they can't shore up that side of the ball they aren't going to make it into the elite status.
Well, another week and another injury for Philadelphia's Michael Vick. This week, Vick broke his non throwing hand in the Eagles meltdown against the Giants. Don't worry though, it wasn't his fault as he launched int a post game tirade about how he can't get any roughing the passer calls from officials, thus allowing other teams to declare open season on him. Yep, other people's fault.
Tom Brady of the New England Patriots has accomplished a lot so far this season. It seems that each week he plays this year, another record falls or is tied. Such was the case in the Patriots 34-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills yesterday where Brady matched a career high in interceptions in one game with four. Not exactly the kind of day he was looking to have but we'll take it.
