Last season on "Fringe," Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) experienced a vision of the future in which the alternate universe he came from was destroyed with our world soon to follow. Thus, Peter used the Doomsday Device to rip a hole in the universe and bring the two warring Fringe teams together to save both worlds. But his actions somehow changed the past and Peter Bishop simply popped out of existence…
In the current timeline, Peter died as a boy when Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) attempted to bring him to our world to cure his fatal illness. In the new Peter-free timeline, Walter began experiencing hallucinations of Peter while Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) saw his face in her dreams without knowing who he was. When Olivia was seemingly threatened by strange electro-magnetic activity, she saw Peter's face take shape and she stopped the attempt to dispel his energy. Peter suddenly reappeared in our world, with all of the knowledge of his time on the Fringe team. But when he came face-to-face with Olivia, she still had no clue as to who he was to her.
Judging from the video preview of the next episode of "Fringe," it looks like Peter's reunion with Walter won't go any smoother. One way or another, Peter is going to have to deal with a world that doesn't remember him.
Don't miss Peter's return to "Fringe," this Friday on Fox!
