Manny Ramirez is officially back in baseball. Well, kind of. He'll have to serve a 50-game suspension without pay before swinging a bat, but the Oakland A's have given him a minor league deal worth $500,000 if he makes the big league club. Even though Ramirez only played five games for Tampa Bay last year before 'retiring' due to 'an issue' under the MLB drug program, reports are declaring that he is a changed man. ManRam is a career .312 hitter and ranks 14th on the all-time home run list. Barring rainouts, Manny's first game back would be on his 40th birthday on May 30th at Minnesota.

Possibly the best regular season game in NBA recent memory Sunday night, when the Thunder topped the Nuggets 124-118 in overtime. Kevin Durant dropped a career best 51, point guard Russell Westbrook added 40 and Serge Ibaka tossed in his own triple double. The Oklahoma City trio made NBA history, as it's the first time teammates have ever put together a 50 point-40 point-triple double performance in the same game. The last time two teammates scored 40 each was back in 1996 when Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen did it for Chicago. To add some perspective, those born in 1996, are now sophomores in high school.

The Charlotte Bobcats are on pace to become the worst team of all time. Now since we have the shortened NBA season, they can't match the 72 losses of the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers, but at 3-26, Charlotte is on pace to have a worse winning percentage. Having lost 16 straight games, team executive Michael Jordan can't be taking the losses lightly, as he continues to decline all interviews. Maybe MJ will lace em up and come out of retirement again?? A Jordan bobcat jersey, that would be weird. Then again, he was a Wizard.

All players have reported to spring training and games will start in Florida and Arizona next week. And Chicago's Derrick Rose is finally playing again, hopefully with his back issues behind him. He had 23 points in the win against Atlanta Monday night.
