When Marvel recently announced their new format for digital comics called Marvel Infinite Comics (demonstrated here by Mark Waid), the initial assumption was that it was simply a new version of motion comics, and thus got a bad rap. However, there's something to be said for motion comics like the Shout! Factory/Marvel Knights Animation treatment of the Joss Whedon/John Cassaday Astonishing X-Men story Dangerous, which is coming to DVD on April 10. It's as loyal an adaptation of the comic series as humanly possible, because it actually takes the panels directly from the story and animates them. Sure, it's not really as fluid or dynamic as traditional animation, but it's got a funky kind of charm to it.
Check out these clips from Astonishing X-Men: Dangerous, which give us a peek at the story about the rise of Danger, a new sentient A.I. arising from what was once the X-Men's Danger Room (and who is currently fairly awesome in the fantastic series X-Club). Are you Whedonite enough to pick this one up?
