The season finale of "Spartacus: Vengeance" was a bloodbath that killed off almost half of the cast, including the three female leads. And when "Spartacus" returns next year, there will be at least three new actresses to fill the void left behind.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Anna Hutchison, Jenna Lind and Gwendoline Taylor have been added to the cast of "Spartacus" season 3. Hutchison will play Laeta, a woman who is described as “the privileged wife of a Roman dignitary who becomes entangled in the struggle against Spartacus.” Lind will portray Kore, a loyal slave to Marcus Crassus, the man who will be one of Spartacus' new Roman adversaries. And Taylor will play Sibyl, a slave "rescued from Roman cruelty" who may be a new ally of the escaped gladiators turned rebels.
Hutchison recently costarred in the film Cabin in the Woods (pictured above) in addition to her previous stints on "Power Rangers: Jungle Fury," "Shortland Street," "Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities" and "Go Girls." Land has also starred in the "Underbelly" TV series in addition to her roles on "All Saints" and ":30 Seconds." Taylor is best known for her appearance in the TV series "Go Girl."
The actresses join the previously cast Simon Merrells as Marcus Crassus and Todd Lasance as Julius Caesar.
"Spartacus" season 3 will likely debut in early 2013 on Starz.
