Ever since the early days of Showtime's "Dexter," the central question has been this: what will happen when Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is finally exposed as a serial killer to the cops of Miami Metro and his beloved sister, Debra Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter)? This was even teased all the way back in the first season when Deb opened her eyes while Dexter confronted his demented brother, Brian Moser aka The Ice Truck Killer.

In the closing moments of "Dexter" season 6, Debra walked into an abandoned church used by the Doomsday Killer and witnessed Dexter murder Travis Marshall (Colin Hanks). Earlier this month, Showtime released a preview picture that showed Debra confronting her brother with her gun drawn. And now we have another indication of just how poorly Debra will react to this revelation.

Showtime has unveiled the first teaser trailer for "Dexter" season 7. Although the video doesn't contain any scenes from the new season, it does feature a new voiceover from Dexter as he defines himself while Debra appears to physically struggle with herself as she tries to cope with Dexter's secret. We also hear Debra's voice as she orders Dexter away from Travis' body…

While the story details for "Dexter" season 7 remain under wraps, Yvonne Strahovski and Ray Stevenson will be among the new cast members this year. But how long they will stick around is anyone's guess.

"Dexter" will return to Showtime on Sunday, September 30.
