"The Walking Dead" season 3 is coming to AMC in October, but fans of the series don't have to wait that long to catch up on the second season. Later this month, Anchor Bay will release "The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season" on both DVD and Blu-ray.

Both the DVD and Bu-ray releases will feature the entire 13 episode second season of "The Walking Dead" along with behind-the-scenes footage, featurettes and episode commentaries. However, a special limited edition zombie head case will only be available in Blu-ray.

To celebrate the upcoming release, Anchor Bay has sent us a nearly two minute long excerpt from "The Ink is Alive," a featurette in which "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman explains why the TV adaptation made a few drastic changes to the original story that unfolded within his comic book series.

"The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season" will shuffle onto Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, August 28.
