Last season on “The Walking Dead,” the survivors dream of sanctuary at a remote farm ended in flames as a massive horde of undead walkers descended upon them.
In the chaos that followed, Andrea (Laurie Holden) was separated from the group while Patricia (Jane McNeill) and Jimmy (James McCune) were killed. As even his wife, Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) began to doubt him, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) solidified his status as the group’s leader by challenging anyone to leave if they didn’t want his protection.
For the first preview scene of the upcoming third season, we see Rick, Lori, Carl (Chandler Riggs), Glenn (Steven Yeun), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Hershel (Scott Wilson), Carol (Melissa McBride), T-Dog (IronE Singleton) and Beth (Emily Kinney) a few months later as they attempt to make long term plans while avoiding a massive herd of zombies that could threaten them all.
AMC’s synopsis of the third season premiere is fairly light on spoilers.
“With the world growing increasingly more dangerous and Lori’s pregnancy advancing, Rick discovers a potentially safe haven. But first he must secure the premises, pushing his group to its limit.”
“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC this Sunday, October 14!
