Marvel Teasers: Snikt and A.U.

Obviously, Wolverine's got another book coming... but what's this A.U. business?

Marvel NOW

Despite Marvel NOW having kicked off in earnest, we're still getting some of those NOW-brand teasers from Marvel. Here's what we got this week.

This, obviously, means Paul Cornell and Alan Davis are going to be handling some kind of Wolverine title. Is Frank Cho's Wolverine not enough, or will they perhaps be taking over Wolverine and the X-Men, or maybe X-23 getting her own book back?

Anyway, that's fairly obvious. What's not so much is this one we got today.

A.U. generally stands for Alternate Universe in comic book land.

So what does THIS one mean? Oddly enough, the first thing that comes to mind is the old Machine Man 2020 business. As we approach the actual 2020, maybe there'll be something celebrating that down the line. This likely ain't that, but you never know.

So is this teasing something in the Ultimate Universe maybe? Perhaps a NEW alternate universe line of comics along those lines?  Penultimate Comics Presents The Penultimates, maybe?  Well, there's also that Age of Apocalypse title that's set in another dimension – maybe this ties in there.

Or maybe it's something completely different. Any code nerds out there know if all that binary code actually translates to something? If so, holler at yer boy, will ya?
