Even More Episodes Of “Saving Hope” Ordered

CTV requests more of the hit medical drama.

What had originally been 13 new episodes for season two of the most-watched Canadian drama on television, "Saving Hope" has been upped to 18 episodes.

CTV increased its order of the next season of the hit medical series, it was recently announced. With an average of 1.7 million viewers each week for the debut season of the show, "Saving Hope" is one of the best-performing original programs of the year.

It stars Erica Durance ("Smallville"), Daniel Gillies ("The Vampire Diaries"), Huse Madhavji ("Call Me Fitz"), Julia Taylor Ross ("Republic of Doyle"), Kristopher Turner ("The L.A. Complex"), and Michael Shanks (also of "Smallville" fame), which follows the doctors of Toronto's Hope-Zion Hospital. In the riveting finale of season 1, Alex (played by Durance), who was stood up at the altar, tries to deal with her fiancé Charlie (Shanks), who has recently come out of a coma and is trying to come to grips with his new reality, going through physiotherapy to learn how to walk again. But after encountering the spirit of a dead victim, he begins to question his relationship with Alex.

Encore episodes of "Saving Hope" are currently airing on Saturdays at 9pm on CTV Two and Thursdays at 10om on Bravo. You can also watch full episodes on CTV.ca, the CTV App, the CTV Mobile channel, and through video-on-demand partners.
