Russell Brand Vs. Westboro Baptist Church

The comedian takes on the "fag" hating extremists.

The Westboro Baptist Church spend most of their time thinking up new ways to spread hatred under the guise of worshipping a deity, but while the news often shows images of them brandishing signs such as "Fags Burn in Hell", it very rarely gives them a chance to speak and share their views with the rest of the world. Which is a shame, because when they do, they sound like f***ing idiots.

Comedian Russell Brand gave two members of Westboro a platform on which to inform his audience who will/won't be going to hell, and it turns out that quite a lot of people will end up spending the rest of eternity jumping across hot coals when they bite the bullet. Madonna, Ghandi and even Tom Hanks, whose only sin to my knowledge was starring in the awful You've Got Mail, will all be facing the wrath of Satan when they die according to Westboro's ideology. In fact, it seems like the only people who will be going to heaven are members of Westboro, which if anything makes heaven the less appealing of the two destinations.

Brand used his time with the two members of the Church (one of whom was wearing a shirt promoting '') to question their interpretation of the Bible and to introduce them to three gay men, who predictably made the "God Hates Fags" protesters squirm in their seats like the closeted homosexuals they presumably are.
