The New Star Trek Into Darkness Poster is Here

The crew of the Starship Enterprise boldly go where Benedict Cumberbatch has wrecked stuff before.

It's here! They've finally released a new poster for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness. The film has been so shrouded in secrecy that we here at CraveOnline are excited when any new piece of the puzzle comes to light. This new poster, courtesy of Paramount (click through for a larger version), is more than just a title, it's a carefully designed piece of artwork that reveals…

…that reveals that this guy broke some stuff. Really big stuff, we'll grant you, but it doesn't give us much to go on. Dude's back is turned to us, so we're only guessing that we're looking at Benedict Cumberbatch and not, for example, Captain James T. Kirk in a kickin' new jacket. The gentleman in question appears to have ripped open a door for himself, a door so large that it implies impressive things about his mysterious powers. After all, as we learned last week, Star Trek Into Darkness is about "a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction." So this, we can only assume, is that guy. Looks tough. looks like we don't want to mess with him. And again, it looks like those Karl Urban rumors from last summer may have been right on the money after all.

Star Trek Into Darkness comes to theaters on May 17, 2013.
