The New Man of Steel Poster is Absolutely Arresting

Superman's in trouble with the law in this new one-sheet for Zack Snyder's reboot.

Warner Bros. has released an all-new poster for Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, Man of Steel, and it looks like, celebrity or no celebrity, Superman really can get arrested in this town.

Zack Snyder's Superman movie sure looks like a moody one, doesn't it? After the first teaser gave the impression of a Terrence Malick film with its atmospheric cinematography and dramatic voice-over, now it looks like the world's greatest superhero is getting locked up. We presume he's playing along out of the goodness of his heart, unless those are kryptonite handcuffs. What did he do to get thrown in the slammer? Did General Zod frame him for breaking national monuments or somrething?

Another thing we note with interest is that, like the last official Man of Steel image, this one goes out of its way to obscure Superman's crotch. Yes, that's a weird statement, but since that Snyder has done away with Superman's trademarked red underwear (overwear?), we imagine they might be downplaying the costume change to avoid unnecessary fanboy scrutiny, or even scrutiny from the "normies" to whom Superman's signature look is so indelibly familiarl.

Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Lawrence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe, opens in 2D, 3D and IMAX theaters on June 14, 2013.
