Two popular Showcase shows are set to return with brand new seasons in the New Year, while it's been revealed that quirky comedian Tom Green will have a guest spot on the hit comedy "Seed."
"Lost Girl" and "XIII" are back with brand new seasons in January, the Showcase network has announced. Anna Silk is making her return as sexy Succubus Bo, who is faced with making new choices but finds her road to commitment riddled with obstacles. Two new additions are joining the cast for season 3 – Rachel Skarsten ("Beauty and the Beast," "The L.A. Complex") and guest star Linda Hamilton ("Chuck"). "Lost Girl" premieres on Sunday, January 6th at 9pm. Meanwhile, "XIII," the hour-long drama series based on Jean Van Hamme’s graphic novels, which have sold more than 13 million copies worldwide since the first volume was published 25 years ago, is coming back for season 2 after a gripping season 1 finale. Starring Stuart Townsend ("The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"), it airs on Friday, January 4th at 9pm.
Finally in TV news, Tom Green has been announced as a guest star on the series "Seed," an original comedy on Citytv. The show follows Harry (played by Adam Korson of "2 Broke Girls"), a likeable bachelor and bartender whose previous foray into sperm donation has resulted in offspring he was unaware of until now. From Force Four Entertainment, the producers of the Citytv original reality series "The Bachelor Canada," and creator Joseph Raso, "Seed" is a 13-episode, half-hour series that offers a fresh take on the family comedy. Green, who hails from Ottawa, will make a one-time guest spot on the show and will play a psychoanalyst named Dr. Stuart Meinertzhagen, a character who will counsel the show’s dysfunctional families. "Seed" is scheduled to premiere on Citytv early in the New Year.
