Street Fighter X Mega Man Now Available for Free

Celebrating two anniversaries with one free game.

Update: Street Fighter X Mega Man is now officially available to download for free from Capcom's Mega Man webpage. You can head over there to snag the free title now. 

Original Story: This year marks the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter. Next year marks the 25th anniversary of Mega Man. Therefore, Capcom is crossing streams and merging the worlds of Street Fighter and Mega Man for a special free, PC-only release called… wait for it… Street Fighter X Mega Man.

The game is essentially an all-new Mega Man adventure, but instead of putting a stop to Dr. Wiley and his nefarious plans, you’re fighting the Street Fighters icons in boss battles. And in typical Mega Man fashion, when you beat one of the SF characters, you get to harness their powers.

The game will release via the Capcom Unity Mega Man page on December 17, 2012, for free on PC only. Surprisingly, the title is being developed by Capcom with the help of some of their fans.
