When you're not busy yelling expletives from being scared stupid, use your Kinect to coordinate with your co-op buddy.

If you pick up Dead Space 3 early next year on Xbox 360, then you’ll be able to take advantage of the game’s newly announced Kinect features. EA Games and Visceral have announced today that Dead Space 3 on Xbox 360 will support Kinect voice controls, allowing you to share supplies, mark objectives and revive your co-op partner without pressing any buttons. Because, you know, buttons are so 2012.

“The voice commands in Dead Space 3 give players a unique way to take down the terror, whether they choose to face the Necromorphs alone in single-player, or alongside a friend with drop-in / drop-out co-op,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer on Dead Space 3 and VP, General Manager of Visceral Games.  “Dead Space 3 delivers the action-horror experience our fans have come to know and love. And with the ability to survive the adventure alone, with a friend, or with Kinect, we’re excited about extending the spine-tingling Dead Space experience to a whole new audience of players.”

Dead Space 3 is set to launch on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on February 5, 2013. With its heavier focus on cooperative play, it should be interesting to see how diehard Dead Space fans receive the title (myself included).
