Late in 2012, former “Game of Thrones” star Sean Bean stepped into lead role of TNT’s “Legends” when Brendan Fraser pulled out of the project. And now the female lead for the potential series is also in place.
According to Deadline, Ali Larter has signed on to “Legends” where she will portray Crystal, a CIA operative in a deep cover task force. Bean will play Martin Odum, an intelligence agent with the unique ability to reinvent himself as a different person on every assignment. Crystal and Martin apparently have a complicated history together and she is said to be against working with Martin on her team at the beginning of the series.
Larter’s earliest acting roles on TV included guest spots on “Dawson's Creek,” “Chicago Hope” and “Suddenly Susan” before Larter landed a starring role as Niki Sanders (and later, Tracy Strauss) on “Heroes” for four seasons. Larter has also starred in Obsession, the first two films in the Final Destination series, Varsity Blues and two of the Resident Evil movies.
In addition to Larter and Bean, TNT’s “Legends” has already lined up Steve Harris, Tina Majorino, Amber Valletta, Lux Haney Jardine and Rob Mayes for supporting roles.
“Legends” is based upon the novel of the same name by Robert Littell, which was adapted for television by Howard Gordon (“Homeland”), Jeffrey Nachmanoff and Mark Bomback.
