In just under a month, “The Walking Dead” Season 3 will resume its run on AMC with 8 new episodes.

And while there’s been a lot of creative turmoil behind-the-scenes with the departure of showrunner, Glen Mazzara; the show itself seems poised to deliver on the long awaited showdown as Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group at the prison prepare to wage war against the Governor (David Morrissey) and his followers in Woodbury.

In a newly aired promo trailer, AMC gives fans a glimpse of what’s to come as the Governor decides the fate of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and his brother, Merle (Michael Rooker); Glenn (Steven Yeun) advocates an aggressive response; Tyreese (Chad Coleman) offers his help and Rick makes a promise that he may not be able to keep.

“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC on Sunday, February 10.
