Dave Grohl’s Sound City To Screen For One Night Only

Plus Bluesfest makes a “We’re not done yet” lineup announcement.

Sound City, a documentary by Dave Grohl, will be featured for just a single night only across select cinemas around Australia on Thursday, January 31st.

Sound City''s, a feature about the storied Sound City studios in Los Angeles, limited screenings can be seen at the following locations nationwide:

Victoria: Jam Factory, Southland, Knox
New South Wales: George Street, Macquarie
Queensland: Chermside, Pacific Fair
Western Australia: Innaloo
South Australia: Marion

Grohl has assembled a talented cast of appearances in Sound City including fellow Nirvana bandmates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear; Josh Homme, Chris Goss and Alain Johannes from Queens of the Stone Age; members of Rage Against the Machine, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Fear, Slipknot, Kyuss, Cheap Trick; plus Rick Springfield, Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor and Paul McCartney on the film’s soundtrack.

Other guests include Pixies‘ Frank Black, Weezer‘s Rivers Cuomo, Tom Petty, John Fogerty, and Barry Manilow.


Bluesfest Byron Bay announced Tuesday a whole bunch of additional acts for the March festival, including a collaboration between Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite.

The Zac Brown Band, Allen Stone, upcoming Australian reggae act Brother Fox and Leonardos Bride will also perform at the three day festival over the Easter holiday.

Manu Chao La Ventura will also play on Easter Sunday in addition to their Good Friday performance while Harper and Musslewhite will play together on the Thursday to supplement their solo acts. The two first met at the 1996 Bluesfest.

Paul Simon, Paul Simon, Robert Plant, Harper, Santana and Iggy & The Stooges are headling Bluesfest 2013.
