The 3DS game that was actually survival horror is making the jump to consoles.

Maybe you’re one of the many that didn’t enjoy the more action-heavy route Capcom took with Resident Evil 5 and 6. If you fit into that demographic, this news should cheer you up a bit. Capcom is planning to bring Resident Evil: Revelations to Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U in May of this year.

RE: Revelations originally released as a 3DS game early last year. Our own Joey Davidson enjoyed it a great deal, likening it to classic Resident Evil experiences that were more survival horror than action romp. So if you’re bummed with last year’s Resident Evil 6, maybe Revelations will be more your speed.

The game will come to consoles on May 21, 2013 (May 23 in Europe) for $50. If you’re a PS3 or PC gamer, you’ll be able to snag it digitally on that day, too. Digital releases are planned for both Xbox 360 and Wii U, but a date has not been announced. The game will have updated, HD visuals, as well as new characters for Raid Mode and a new enemy type.

It’s not a completely new survival-horror inspired Resident Evil for consoles, but it will have to do for the time being.
