Ubisoft sent out a press release yesterday (sorry, I’m just getting to it now) announcing that Assassin’s Creed III’s first substantial DLC, "The Tyranny of King Washington," will be available on February 19, 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
This DLC represents the first act of a three-act alternate history add-on that sees George Washington turning not-so-friendly. This first part is being called “The Infamy,” and sees Connor waking up to find George Washington being crowned king of the United States. From there things don’t go so well.
The DLC will be available for purchases for $10 (800 MS Points), or you can spend $30 to lock down all three parts of the Tyranny of King Washington expansion, plus more, as part of the game’s Season Pass.
Assassin’s Creed III was received less than favorably here at Crave. For everything it did well (naval battles!), it did something that’s unforgivable for AAA development (bugs!). We’ll have to wait and see if this upcoming DLC breathes new life into a game we haven’t really touched since launch.
