This Tech Squib is listening very closely.

Blue Microphones is well known around both the professional recording and vlogger world for making high quality, affordable microphones that can work at home or in a studio. The Blue Microphones Spark is their latest entry into both markets.

As a humble gadget reviewer, I admit I don't know what every word I'm about to type means. However, for audiophiles in the market for a top shelf mike, the Spark is "cardioid, solid-state condenser microphone designed to help achieve professional quality recordings in any creative environment." It features a custom-designed condenser capsule with Class-A discrete electronics for recording vocals, drums, guitars, pianos, brass, woodwinds, etc.

However, at around $200, it doesn't price outside the reach of home recording artists looking for a manageable size mike for music or vlogging.

We tried it out here just connected to basic Garageband, and its sound is natural and clear — providing perfect audio that could be sweetened however necessary. It's up to the individual buyer if they want to roll with that price tag.
