Less than two weeks have passed since AMC officially resurrected “The Killing,” but the series already has its first new cast member.
Veteran actor Elias Koteas has signed on as a series regular for the third season of “The Killing,” where he will portray Ed Skinner, a “well-regarded and well-respected” police detective who was once the partner of Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos). While reports note that Skinner is greatly respected by his colleagues and prosecutors, he is also harboring a dark secret.
Koteas has appeared in numerous films, including Some Kind of Wonderful, The Thin Red Line, Zodiac, Fallen, Let Me In and Defendor. On television, Koteas has appeared in “The Sopranos,” “House” and “CSI: New York.”
“The Killing” Season 3 will pick up roughly one year after Linden walked away from her career as a detective. However, her most recent partner, Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) draws her back into that world when a new murder mystery is apparently linked to one of Linden’s unsolved cases from years before. Presumably, Koteas’ Ed Skinner was partnered with Linden during the case in question.
A premiere date for “The Killing” Season 3 has not been announced, but it will likely come in either summer or fall 2013.
